After five years of successful collaboration with the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and its market MIFA, a shared will arose between France and the region to create a space to foster the potential of the women creators in an environment where few women have access to directing roles.
The advent of virtuality gave us the chance to think about an extended training program with the participation of professionals around the world. Given the strong cooperation bond between Latin America and France and in alliance with the Institut Français d’Argentine, Animation! launched the Mentoring Program for Female Creators which reunited prominent personalities of the animation industry with female Latin American directors with powerful projects.
After completing the Mentoring Program, as an exceptional situation, the five selected projects of this first edition took part virtually in MIFA / Annecy 2021. Later, in December 2021 they were showcased in Animation! Ventana Sur.
