The Mentorship Program for Female Latin American Creators launches its third edition at Ventana Sur 2022.
The initiative is developed with the support of the Institut Français d’Argentine and the MIFA Market of the Annecy Festival and the Quirino Awards for Ibero-American Animation (Spain) as a strategic ally.
The program was launched in 2020 with the aim of concretizing actions in favor of gender parity that help build a more equitable and diverse animation industry.
After two years, with the 10 projects selected in total between the first and second editions, the experience proved to be positive and enriching for both the creators and the mentors.
In each edition, a jury composed of prominent members of the international industry chooses 5 finalist projects to access training given by specialists focused on production, script and pitching. The program is conducted virtually through a series of meetings, both group and individual, in which the directors work together with the mentors with the aim not only to strengthen the projects, but also to improve their communication skills when presenting them in international markets and events.
The directors also have the opportunity to attend masterclasses given by renowned specialists and to meet with leading industry professionals who provide feedback on their projects.
Thanks to the alliance with the Quirino Awards for Ibero-American Animation, the 5 projects obtain accreditations (including meals) to participate in the Quirino Awards Co-Production Forum.
Through the support of the Annecy International Animation Festival and its MIFA market, one of the projects is chosen to be presented at MIFA in the special section FOCUS LA LIGA.
To close the program, the directors make their pitch in person at Ventana Sur.
